Yorgos was born in Keratea, Greece in 1946. He came to the United States at the young age of 12 with his family, who settled in Houston. He was always a fan of cooking and learned everything he knows from his yia-yia (grandmother in Greek), who taught him how to cook from the age of 5.
He founded Pyrigio's in 1989 and today it is one of the best known Greek restaurants in Houston.
